How do I import a route?
Tap Import file on the home screen and choose a GPX, KML, GeoJSON or CSV file from Files. You can also start with Open forest example to try the included 500-point sample.
How do I rename or delete a trail?
Open the ⋯ menu on a trail card and choose Rename or Delete trail. In the editor, the pencil beside the title also opens Rename. Deleted trails move to Recently Deleted, where you can restore them.
How do I delete points inside a polygon?
Tap Select area in the editor, then tap at least three polygon corners in order. Points inside or on the boundary turn red. Review the count, tap Delete and confirm. Back one point adjusts the outline; Cancel exits. Edges cannot cross or overlap.
Can I recover deleted points?
Use Undo during the same editing session, or Redo to reapply a change. Previous 3 versions in the ⋯ menu restores an earlier set of points. Version history is separate from step-by-step undo.
How do I move or reorder points?
Select a point, then hold and drag it. Drag the handles in the point list to reorder, enter a position in point details, or use Reorder mode to tap points in sequence. The connecting line updates to match.
What does Last saved mean?
It is the date and time when the project was last saved, not an activity duration, speed or countdown. Moving coordinates does not automatically rewrite original timestamps.
Do I need an account or internet connection?
No DotTrail account is required. Local editing, saving and export work without an account. Map tiles and ads require a network connection; map detail may be unavailable offline.
Can I sync between iPhone and iPad?
Yes. Sign in to the same Apple Account and enable iCloud on both devices. DotTrail syncs projects, names, deletions and version changes. You can keep editing offline and synchronization resumes after reconnecting. Back up project also exports a .dottrail file for a manual backup.
How is a project backup different from a route export?
GPX, KML, GeoJSON and CSV exports are for other mapping tools. A .dottrail backup includes the original import, current content and history for continued editing. Other apps may apply their own waypoint order.
What if an ad does not load?
You can still edit, save, restore and export. When required for your region or consent status, Ad privacy options appears in the ad area so you can revisit your choices.
